The Tiny Seed Potato Stamp Flower
Slice a potato in half and use one half as a petal stamp for a flower. You could use this stamp to recreate the flower from the book The Tiny Seed. Another option would be to use the potato as a “paintbrush” and move it all around on the paper to create a flower.
Color Changing Flowers or Cabbage
Learn how plants absorb water! Fill a glass with color dye and place a flower stem or a leaf of lettuce inside. Repeat this process with a few other dye colors. Observe the flowers over the next few days and watch the magic happen! Ask your child why they think the flower is changing colors and discuss why this occurs.

Gardening Sensory Tub
You could use of a variety of items to create a garden sensory tub. You could use soil or dye rice brown. If you have pretend play food, pull out the items that grow in a garden to add them to your tub. Open packages of real vegetable or flower seeds and sprinkle those into your tub. Plastic/silk flowers are another fun option of something to add. The following link shares some ideas of how to put one together.
